115kv transmission polymer insulators line post Construction Notes
A minimum clearance of 7 feet is required between 115 kV and 26 kV circuits.
Guys should be installed where appropriate on poles.
Line guards shall be installed where lines form an angle.
Static Wire Connection
The number 2/0 bare copper ground wire (7) shall not be connected to the neutral or the pole ground. A separate ground rod shall be installed per Construction Guideline D16-2.
Fasteners
For horizontal line post insulator configurations, install machine bolts with heads on insulator side; nuts, washers, and threads on pole side.
For vertical line post insulator configurations, install machine bolts with heads on bracket side; nuts, washers, and threads on pole side.
For both horizontal and vertical configurations, install double coil spring washers on the threaded end of machine bolts.
Vertical Deadend and Swing Corner Steel vs. Wood Pole Specifications
Compression terminals and body-and-eye deadends shall be used on high tension lines with design tensions of 5000 pounds or more.

The body-and-eye deadends for these applications, on low tension lines (maximum design tension of 5000 pounds or less), if the deadend structure is steel or concrete and the next structure is steel or concrete, use body and eye; if the next structure is wood, or both the deadend structure and the next structure are wood, an aluminum strain clamp may be used.
