The core rod of it was made by epoxy reinforced fiber glass. 11kv/12kv composite line post insulator has hop dip galvanized cast steel for metal fittings. The housing and sheds of the composite insulator are one piece, injection molded silicone rubber. A special care has to be taken in connecting the ECR fiberglass rod to the metal end fittings.
